Into the whites

Rocks up, two 4k peaks down

This is what a lot of the climb up south Kinsman peak looked like.  This went on for a half mile or more.  Good hill to be going up.

We pushed past our planned stopping place, Eliza brook shelter to Kinsman Pond which took us over south and north kinsman peaks.   We arrived at Eliza brook about 12:30 and wanted to get over the peaks because rain was in the forecast.

We ran into/hiked around some hikers we’d seen before: meat stick, Chicken Louise and Friends.

We stopped in to the lonesome lake but where I was delighted to learn I won’t have to carry my sleeping bag up: the AMC huts provide blankets.

We got down to I-93 in good time, got a shuttle, stop at McDonald’s and back to the hotel for a “Nero” (near zero miles) day.

I’m pleased with how I’ve been able to handle this much effort in high temperatures and humidity.
