I came across CarWatch: a Raspberry Pi + local LLM that turns a car into a chat-room agent, reads engine data, watches for crashes/accedents, and posts to the chat room. Good view into what data you can get today from your car and where the auto industry is going (vendor lock-in, cloud monitoring, etc) vs. #DIY, Right-to-repair, privacy, local-only data collection (dash cams, next gen in-car ethernet standards, etc). Keep an eye on this space.
